Vicki Barrett lives in the mountains of Colorado but is also quite at home under the water photographing whatever comes by; be it the smallest pistol shrimp or whale shark.
She named her business "Pau Hana Studios" while living aboard a sailboat for a year in the Caribbean. Her cards of underwater marine life and brightly colored scenes could be found from the BVI's to the Netherlands Antilles.
Pau Hana a Hawaiian term for 'done work' was the name of the sailboat she and her husband purchased in retirement.
Vicki often starts her ART with a photograph and adds a layer of her own personality and style through the use of a "Wacom" tablet. Images may remain mostly traditional in looks or become eye-catching abstracts.
The final process of printing may be on Canvas, Metallic Canvas Giclee', METAL or Glass.
Her METAL prints glow from within the ART work itself as she controls the degree of 'glow' by erasing parts of the background and controlling the amount of sheen so the metal shows through.
